history of Ana

A founding member of Overwatch, Ana uses her talent and expertise to defend her homeland and her loved ones.

With Egypt paying a heavy price during the Omnium Crisis, the country's weakened and understaffed security services turned to snipers like Ana Amari, who was considered one of the country's best. Her skill, decision-making ability and instincts naturally led her to join the Overwatch troops that ended the war.

Following the success of this mission, Ana was promoted to the rank of captain and served for many years as Major Morrison's second in command. Despite her increased responsibilities, Ana refused to be removed from combat operations. She continued to operate in the field into her 50s, but was pronounced dead after being neutralized by a Claw agent known as "Fatale" during a hostage situation.

Ana survived severe injuries and the loss of her right eye. During her recovery, the weight of a lifetime of fighting took its toll and she decided it was best to remain dead to the world. As the years passed and she saw her homeland increasingly threatened, she realized that she still had a desire to protect her people.

After "commandeering" Overwatch's weaponry, Ana is back to defend the peace in the face of threats to the security and stability of the region.
