History of Orisa
Assembled from parts salvaged from old OR15 defensive robots, whose lifespan was not long, Orisa is the city's new protector. However, she still has a lot to learn.
Commissioned before the Omnium crisis, the OR14 security robots, nicknamed "Idina," were once built in the vast Omnium of Nigeria. After the war, these robots, like many other models used during the crisis, went out of production. Twenty years later, Numbani re-launched the OR14 program to protect the city from external threats. These new OR15 models saw a brief period of activity before being destroyed in an attack by Doomfist.
The program was abandoned after the attack, and the civilian government sold the last of the OR15 robots. Some of them were purchased by Efi Oladele, a brilliant eleven-year-old girl whose achievements in robotics and artificial intelligence have already earned her the Adawe Foundation's "Genius Grant".
ncouraged by open-minded parents, Efi used her scholarship to purchase one of the retired OR15 robots. For Efi, Numbani needed a protector, and an upgraded OR15 seemed perfect for the role. She repaired and reconfigured the robot before giving it a personality of her own design. Efi named the new Numbani heroine "Orisa".
Orisa has proven that she can be of service to the city, but she still needs to find her optimal protocol.
