History of Reinhardt

Reinhardt Wilhelm presents himself as a champion of a bygone age, who rules his life by the chivalrous values of values of virtue, justice and courage.

Over thirty years ago, Overwatch was founded to counter the threat of robot uprisings the threat of robot uprisings around the world. Reinhardt, a multi-decorated German soldier, was incorporated into the first Overwatch strike team that ended the Omnium Crisis. After the conflict was resolved, Overwatch grew into a global institution charged with keeping the peace in a world torn by peace in a war-torn world. Reinhardt was one of its most trusted pillars.

Reinhardt's unyielding work ethic and outstanding personality earned him the admiration of his peers and superiors alike. Never reluctant to speak out, he was Overwatch's most outspoken supporter, but when necessary, he was also its most ruthless critic, never failing to remind everyone that the organization that the organization was supposed to remain in the service of the common good.

On the eve of his 60th birthday, Reinhardt was forced to leave active service. Depressed, he feared he was losing his purpose and that his glory days were behind him. As the climate darkened and Overwatch was paused in corruption and sedition, Reinhardt could only watch the collapse and disgrace of the cause he had dedicated his life to defend.

Even though Overwatch eventually disbanded, Reinhardt couldn't be satisfied with passively watching the world succumb to chaos. Dressed once again in his crusader armor like a knight of old, he vowed to fight for justice throughout Europe, to defend the innocent and to inspire hearts and minds with the promise of better days.
